Curbside Jimmy plays pre-Chicago style blues and appreciates the sounds of Both Sonny Boy Williams 1 and 2, Tampa Red, Big Maceo, Washboard Sam and Sonny Terry. Jimmy plays his own style but has certainly been influenced by these artists.
“There is a feel to blues that is not automatic. A lot of younger players err when they put all the energy they have into every note of every bar. Blues sounds best when there is an ebb and flow of energy throughout a song. Blues sounds best at an optimum level and the key is to find that level” _Curbside Jimmy.
